Title: Backup to CD/DVD - new rpm available!
Post by: haydnlowe on August 14, 2004, 09:39:39 AM
Hi There,

Would love a hand testing some new rpms...

I while back I put together a module which lets you perform a selective backup of an SME server to CD.

V0.3 of cd-utils is now available -
  - support for SME 6.0
  - DVD burning

download it:
http://cd-utils.sourceforge.net

Thanks in advance! let me know how it goes!

Cheers
Haydn

Question - I installed these packages, but the cd configuration appears to only support SCSI type Cd/dvd burners?  is this correct?

Quay,  check out this thread:

edit: the link in the above thread doesn't seem to be working anymore...
Basically Quay, you have to do some tinkering to get IDE burners to work.  I have forgotten how to do it though, i am looking for some info now...

I used this HOWTO and it works fine: http://www.geocities.com/lapsch/CDWriter-howto.html

I am now using this contrib and it works well so far. I havent tried a restore since that is not what i will need in my case.
What could be great would be sceduling/configuring of different jobs in "CD Burner and Utils configuration", and maybe a feature to blank the CD first. However i have worked around this in a cronjob.

I loove this one.....
