Title: Error

I got the following  error message after installing and configuring SME 6.0.1 server .

"There was a error sending your message : Unable to connect to SMTP server localhost:25"

Can any one tell me the solution for this??? please help me out

I don't have a clear answer but I do have a couple of questions.

1. Is the server set up as a "gateway and server" or just "server"?

2. Are you behind a firewall?

3. Consider the text "localhost:25". Is SME acting as your primary SMTP server? If so, shouldn't the domain name be something other than "localhost"?

Dear Mr.Mophilly

Thank u for your prompt reply,

1. The server is set up as just 'server' only mode.

2. The server is behind the Hardware firewall.

3. The domain name is assigned 'ciil.stpmy.soft.net'.

Note: we are getting this error while we send a new mail.
