Title: Changing DNS cache timeout??
Post by: tim on December 21, 1999, 10:59:21 AM
How do I set the nameserver cache to update more often? I work with alot of domains that are changing faster than the e-smith cache, the result is that my resoved ip's for hostnames entered for http, telnet , etc are often incorrect.

TIA

p.s. Great ProducT!

There's nothing that we can do about that - it's intrinsic in the design of the DNS. Time out
values are part of the DNS data. If domains are changing their DNS data frequently they
should be setting very low TimeToLive values in their zone files.
