Title: Simple question - how to add/modify web sites externally

Hi,

How do I go about giving someone the ability to build and edit a web-site from outside my local network ?
Looking around, there seems to be massive issues with giving people external FTP write access to an i-Bay that involves changing scripts (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=10827.msg40866#msg40866 as an example)

Is there an easier way to do this?

Trying the mod above for myself, I have created custom template in custom dir with the neccessary mods.
Then, I am guessing here, I tried these commands

/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/proftpd.conf
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event remoteaccess-update
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

to get the custom to change the original template. But this does nothing to setings within the original template, however, where am I going wrong with my expand commands ?
