Hi!
Im trying to run SME on a IBM thinkpad T21 Type 2687 but during install SME ask for a PCMCIA driver disk. I gave it pcmciaadd.img from RedHat and every thing looks fine for a sec but then SME states:
The driver does not look like a server PCMCIA driver!
Then the system reboots.
Do any one know of a SERVER PCMCIA driver????
brgds

It almost sounds like that particular NIC is not liked by SME for the task at hand. You might want to see if you can get ahold of a couple 3com Etherlink III '3C589's. They work awesome and are supported with good drivers. Aside from that... this info is kinda dated but read through it anyway, it may help sort through your PCMCIA install...

I'm in the same boat..
I'm trying to install on a ThinkPad 600X ( PIII/500 ) and, as stated in a previous post, after supplying the pcmciadd image, get the message
'That floppy does not look like an server PCMCIA driver disk'
This is also true for 6.5 Beta..
To note on the Network card issue. My PCMCIA card is a 3Com 3CXFE575CT
Any insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
please let me know whether you were able to solve the PCMCIA problem because I'm just 2 ebay clicks away to run in the same problem.
I thought configuring an old notebook would be fine for small networks, because of the quiet and the low power benefits of a notebook. However, it require to use the internal NIC-card as well as a external PCMCIA card for the gateway configuration.
Thanks for answers
