Hello,
SME server (5.6 for me) is very nice because, it works properly on a lot of old computers not really powerfull today.
But, the whole of last week, I was looking for an IDE controler to put two HDD in RAID 1 and I found one who accepts to work properly with SME server 5.6 (I'm not really sure but it was accepted by SME installer)
For information, this controler is based on SIL0680 chip. Acard A865-A in working so but ITE8212 can not works properly.
Is-it possible to create or add to the contribs.org, a specific Hardawre Compatibility List if not, please, vive an appropiate link to a usefull existing list compatible with SME and, if possible, easily accessible.
Thank you very much.

I found this page about Red Hat Hardware Compatibility List with google last week.
For SME 5.6, what is the Red Hat base ?
This link is may be more usefull for me : http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/SME%20HCL?action=BackLinks
Ok, I stop here, I'm so tired this night too.
Thank you.
Bye.

Hi Quadrax - the release notes for SME 5.6 are posted here:
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/SME%20Server%20Announce%20v5.6
It says "All packages directly derived from RedHat Linux have been upgraded to the RedHat 7.3 version, with applicable updates."
(Note that at the top the release notes say "6.0 SME Server", but the date is Jan 10 2003. Must have been a typo.
