Am I correct, in that SME is using Poptop?
Can someone Please have a look at these links and help me sort out the proper way to get Poptop updated on SME?
This is an effort to get LAN games to connect over PPTP VPN, this issue has been mentioned here on occassion. I would love to see this accomplished and I'm fully willing to host an ISO of it with 100k upload off my SME when solved! Please help....

link that refers to the above link about VPN gaming with Poptop customizations
here... (http://non-standard.net/freebsd/game-vpn/vpnfaq.html)
If someone could take the time to compile this into a specific How-To for SME 6.0.1 it would be much appreciated I'm sure! And I would be glad to host a new custom ISO mixing this solve with the other 6.0.1custom ISO...

Hi Quade,
I had a need to do this ages ago using e-smith 5.5. I documented the procedure to make the connection. You might be able to get some value from it. You can find the document here: http://comnetel.com/vpnclient.htm

Lloyd,
Thank you very much for the reply. But I'm not sure you understand the end result we're looking for here. I want to update PoPToP to a version that supports "bcrelay". UDP broadcasts need to be relayed to or from the VPN tunnel, from what I think I understand about this. From what I've read so far, I think SME is using poptop v1.1.4. I want to update it to v1.2.1 with the proper settings to have the 'bcrelay' option function properly. Did you have a look at the links, cause with your experience I would love it if you could make sense of this for me... thanks...

Hi Quade,
Just need some more info. Did you just want to setup a tunnel between two sme boxes so that you and your mate can play? Or did you plan to setup a game server so that multiple friends can connect using vpn? If you are trying to just connect two sme boxes then IPsec might be a better choice than pptp. See http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2002q4/006572.html

Lloyd,
Nope, not doing the 'between 2 SME' setup. I'm running various game servers on a station behind My SME. Friends are VPNing to my LAN via PPTP/WinXP. None of them have SME's.
BTW... I got distracted there for a bit. I just fresh installed, and am now behind my new 'Tony's 6.0.1custom.iso'. It's got lotsa goodies ready to go, everything seems to be working fine. Now back the matter at hand...

Getting PoPToP updated and doing
'bcrelay'...
