Title: Smtp failling to establish connection

Hi

I have SME 6.0 , installed in Private/Gateway mode, I am portforwarding for smtp port to internal server.

My mail was working fine, but all of sudden it stopped working and when I look at qmail logs on my SME I see following info, infact it is failling for every mail server and I can't figure out what is causing this.Any help will be much appreciated.

That is ALL inbound Internet connections are blocked before it even portforwarding it to internal SMTP server.

So Boris you are saying that Private mode will not allow me to establish connection, so if I configure it as Server/Gateway , will it be ok then?
I also have called my ISP, they have confirmed that they are not blocking any ports

Private server/gateway is used only then no inbound connections required. In your case just server/gateway is appropriate.

ok but even though my SME is running in private/Gateway I am able to portforward for pop,imap, ssh and www.
So why not smtp is working?
It just surprises me.
