Hi, All!
I am trying to find out how to do a *safe* surface scan on my server with only one 60gig ide drive.
I have googled around and found a program called badblocks (sme 6.0.1 has it), but when I read the man-page it does not suggest running it directly, but rather through the e2fsck programe.
When I run the e2fsck programe, I get this output
# e2fsck -c -n /dev/hda3
WARNING!! Running e2fsck on a mounted filesystem
may cause SEVERE filesystem damage.
Do you want to continue? (Y/N) no
How do I check a whole drive, and not just a partition?
Thanks,
