I cannot logon to a sme-server 6.0 domain using a winxpprof machine.
The xp-machine does not recognize the username and password.
When I logon local I can get through to the sme-server and exploring a users map on the server giving the right username and password. Strange.
Any suggestions ?
When I logon using a win2000prof machine it works fine but the user cannot activate any of the previous installed programs.
He gets a new desktop with the few standard icons but no programs(even thouhg they are installed on the local machine)can be activated.
On the same win2000prof machine all works fine when I logon as the sme-server-admin.
What am I doing wrong?

Search is your friend:
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=22394.0
and as it's said in the link, from your sme server find
/home/e-smith/files/server-resources/regedit/winxplogon.reg
and copy it to your xp box and add it to the registry
regards,
Frederik

Hi,
About your profile.
Icons desapeard because entering the domain gives you a new profile.
If you want, when a profile is ok, you can copy it to
Documents & settings\Default user.
So, each new user connected to the domain through this machine will get this profile on first login.
