Hi all
Simple Question. Does SME support USB adsl Modems? I have a customer with an SME box and they just updated from Dial up to ADSL without asking me. THey were given a USB ADSL Modem so I'm hoping I can just Plug it in, do a little configuratio and Viola!!
Please tell me this is true.......

Hi,
Yes this is true...Search is your best friend...try using keywords usb modem, speedtouch
If its a speedtouch modem then there is lots of info even a how-to and install script

Hello,
Now, it's possible to use USB modem but, it's not without a specific configuration of SME.
Personnaly, I use a BeWAN Ethernet (30€ by Tele2.fr) modem connected on a dedicated NIC because, PPPoE is "plug and play" not like USB.
HP, a beginner.
P.S.
Do you know why my Network access to local files are very slow and why I have no problem with HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc... ??
I'll try to use my Speed Touch when it will be able to support 1024kbps. Do I need to upgrade the firmware? how to do it ?
Thanks.
