Title: Email woes
Post by: Del on September 11, 2001, 11:16:06 PM
Hi everyone,

I have set up my e-smith box OK except for email.
I use a freeserve account so all emails are sent to one mailbox. I have set my email for mutidrop, entered my isp's "pop.freeserve.co.uk" as my secondary email server, I know e-smith as collected the mail because it is showing in the email received report in e-smith-manager. The trouble is I can't get to reteive it in my email client, I have tried MS Outlook 2000, Outlook Express and Pegagus mail.
I have set up a pop account and a imap account, both connect to e-smith but still no mail shows, what I am I missing here, I have wrote new mail and sent it and it also shows in the reports, but no one internally or externally receives it.

I've got the same problem. I noticed that the mail has been retrieved from the ISP. The mail is in /home/e-smith/Maildir/new but it isn't transfered to the user accounts.

I have just enabled webmail and I can send internal mail and receive it Ok, then when I go into Outlook Express they appear as new messages, but still no luck sending internal straight from OE and still no external mail.

unless you have created user accounts which match your external email address, the mail will be routed (by default) to the admin account - have you checked to see if the email is in admin's mailbox?
