Title: Change admin password?
Post by: Lowell Fuher on August 28, 2004, 02:32:03 PM
How do we change the "Admin" password.  Someone with knowledge of a password can no longer be trusted.

Moe,
Crank up the server manager goto user accounts then click on the change password link against admin.

You won't find the "change password" option there.
Instead, goto http://<yourserver>/user-password and fill in the account name, the old password and the new password.

BTW: Have you noticed the "search" function on this site ? It actually works !  :-D

Thanks Lloyd, Hit that target dead center!
Funny how I have been looking at the server manager for over 5 years with 12 - 15 SME servers out and about and have never seen that "Admin Password Change".  I have never had to make a change mid-stream, we always did it at upgrade time. My first server was a E-smith 4.1 box, I just don't comment on the boards any longer - too many darts ->   Speaking of darts, Arvid - find me a search phrase that got the results I was looking for.  I NEVER ask without looking first.
