Hi

Im need a server at my home, the server should be used for file (also webdav) / web / mail / cvs server would contribs be the right solution for this?

Can contribs also use software raid (mirror the harddisk (backup disk))

Yes.
There are seperate how-tos for CVS and Webdav installation, etherything else is included to base SME distro.
