Title: 403 Forbidden error although i-bay is public
Post by: nightferret on September 05, 2004, 09:54:07 PM
Hello,

I am using  SME Server 6.0.1-01  and trying to use Gallery 1.4.4

(background)
I made a new i-bay, and installed Gallery to it. I got it to work, aqnd browsed to it from my local network, started playing around with it. But my friend outside my network said he couldn't browse to it.  So I created a new virtual domain for the dyndns.org domain I was using, thinking that was the problem. (but it think the Primary i-bay was still okay, so in retrospect I dunno why I thought that) I also checked to see if the script execution and public html access was enabled on the ibay. (they were)

(the problem)
I rebooted, and now it doesn't work at all; it gives the 403 permissions error.

I really couldn't find much in the logs exept this:

Quote

[date][client IP] client denied by server configuration: /opt/gallery

I may be looking in the wrong place. Even so, it seems this error tells me that I have configured the ibay not to be publicly accessible. But I haven't.  Anyone got a clue to help me troubleshoot or know what stupid thing I'm missing? Please help: I was *so* excited about this and now I'm sad.
