Title: can't find "make" cmd

i'm looking to install tcl on my esmith server, however i can't run make...i get "make: commad not found".

Hi Steve,

As I understand it e-smith does not come with any compliling tools. I tried to install GCC and make, but had no luck first time around and was not going to push it. I did read somewhere that you can compile on another box but I am too much of a newbie to know what to do there.

Everytime you want to install something, you should try to find it as an RPM package.

For TCL, you can find some packages on rpmfind.net :
