Title: sme server and fedora 2 client
Post by: versa on September 15, 2004, 12:13:28 AM
Hi all, I am very new to linux and sme server and I have a problem. I have the sme set up as a server gateway, with a fresh install of fedora 2 as the client I cannot see the server in the "network servers" of fedora, with all the updates applied to fedora it shows up, I can see all the common shares but I cannot see my private / user ibay, I know this is not a sme problem it is something that I am doing wrong with fedora, it works fine with both Xandros and windows, I hope that someone might be able to throw a bit of light on the problem?

Thanks in advance
William

Hi,

-- no answer just a confirmation of your question --

I just started using FC2 on two systems some two weeks ago and hadn't even looked into "Network Servers" until I read your question here.

What would you expect to see there BTW ?

In my network I have an SME6 server with several ibays, some Windows systems with open shares and two FC2 systems with open shares via Samba.

Hi Garfield, when I click om "network Servers" im the menue it shows me my sme server, I double click on the server icon and I can see the i bays, ie primary and common, but it will not show me my personal user i bay. I know it has to do with the settings for frdora logging into the server, but I just cannot get to the bottom of it. It works fine in Xandros and windows.
