Hi,
My SME 5.6 server has is called x.abc.com
when you login under ftp for example it says Welcome to ftp server at abc.com
How can I change this to something else? It doesn't handle any traffic for that domain, it is just the name.. and now i want somthing different.
as a newbie whoo cant see anywhere to change it in the server manager i considered searching for the string abc.com in / and seeing if i could edit a config file somewhere but i think coming here and asking was more of a wse decision :-)
so, is it possible?

Go to the machine running SME, and log on as admin with the admin password. When Server Console with the list of options, down arrow to Configure this Server. Then follow the steps.
Be warned: you must know your configuration to get through this. If you are unsure, read the pdf's on the documentation page before you begin.
