Title: SME601 - Automatic CPU detection doesn't works - Minor
Post by: Quadrax on September 17, 2004, 10:03:19 AM
Hello,

With SME 6.0.1, my 2 CPU DELL server starts with the Kernel UP and not SMP.

It's a little bug because, it's possible to change the /etc/lilo.conf file with the 'pico' editor and test the change using lilo -v -t (for Verbose and Test) before to rewrite the MBR (Master Boot Record) with only lilo -v command.

The line wich must be updated is about the default kernell image : default=SMEServer-smp (if you want SMP=Symetrical MultiProcessor management by the appropriate Kernel)

With the SME 5.6, it was automatic...

Just a precision : the "Bug" resolved by J.P. Cheney when I ask him about.

I'm just a poor beginner...

Bye.
