Title: Strange IP in my /var/qmail/control/locals files
Post by: tpearsall on September 19, 2004, 01:48:36 AM
While hunting down a relaying denied error I came across this in my /var/qmail/control/locals file:
====
localhost
house1.pearsall.us
[192.168.65.17]
====

Should the IP be there?  It's not even on my subnet (192.168.232.*)

Thanks,
Todd

Hi,

AFAIK that IP should be the External IP of your box.

Take a look at the file '/home/e-smith/configuration' and see what is listed as the 'ExternalIP'.

In the '/home/e-smith/configuration' that address is listed as my external IP.  The e-smith server is set up as server-only (and only has 1 nic), so it that an artifact from the server-gateway mode?

Thanks,
Todd

Yep, I think it is. It doesn't harm, but I guess it's worth a minor bug report. Would you do the honors? ;-)

Thanks.
