Title: Ventrilo server and port
Post by: mrbungle on September 22, 2004, 08:34:42 PM
Hi

I'm pretty new to linux and SME.

I want to run a ventrilo server (an old version) on my SME 6.01.

What would be the best way to do that and what does it take to open the proper port for it?

Hi Mrbungle

This is a contrib that allows you to open/deny ports in the server-manager. Thats the easiest for us newbies.

http://www.muzo.homeip.net/nest/contribs/Rpm/Masq_Manager/

there is a howto about it here:

http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/How%20To%20SME-Masq-manager

Regarding ventrilo I can't say, but I have a teamspeak server running on my computer, which was very easy to install. I just installed the RPM and opened the port in the firewall page of server-manager. To start of with go to http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php and download the linux-server and read the included ventrilo_srv.htm file.

C Ya.
