Title: IPSEC/ VPN
Post by: glowthian on September 29, 2004, 05:13:55 PM
Is there a freeswan for 6.0 and if so where is it. All I can find is 5.5 and 5.6 only

Thanks
Greg

The first link appears to contain an updated panel and may possibly work without the --nodeps options although I haven't tried it.

I would like this information also.

There is some stuff out there about getting it going with 6.x and some folks who claim to have done it (search/find, etc., etc.).

I got errors on my first attempt with 6.0 so I fell back to 5.5 to make it work; LAN to LAN to LAN.

Anyone who could write a "high-quality HOWTO" for IPSEC on SME 6.x will be a hero and deserves big bragging rights!

There already is a howto, but it's aimed at 5.6 here http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/saco/contrib/devinfo-freeswan-1.99/freeswan-howto.html
If you modify this howto as per this thread http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=24038.0
and here http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=8658.msg32470#msg32470 then it works great on 6.0.1
Can you post the errors??

You can also use Openvpn (I know it's not IPSec...)

PS. For some reason the OpenVPN link is now pointing to the old 5.5 stuff.....

Hi,

I am currently drafting up a howto and all the appropriate rpm's for it with ldkeen's pointers.

They'll be published pretty soon (when i get a spare half day to finish it off) in a contrib the admins created for me recently. Got it successfully going on SME 6. Just followed ldkeen's instructions and worked like magic ! You are a legend ldkeen  :-D

I'll keep everyone posted as soon as I publish it.

Has anyone had any luck with VoIP on SME ...maybe using Asterisk ?
