Title: Boot splash image (is this grub related?)

I wonder if some has managed to change/modify it
and could share how to do it?

I am reading a lot about it but can´t find anyting
inside /boot/grub

Grub isn't going to help you as the SME Server uses LILO.

Your first place to look would be in /etc/lilo.conf

you need a boot-splash?
how often do you reboot your SME?
and do you really watch it while booting?
