Hi all,
it's probably the 5th time i did it, but i didn't see it coming this time, i was playing around with sean grays owa access http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/How%20to%20set%20up%20Outlook%20web%20access
and while creating the template i made a mistake and expanded noticed that the httpd service failed to start deleted the mistake and expanded it then the service started ok, i didn't pay attention to much at that stage, then deleted everything in the template and expanded again, restated the httpd service and all seemed ok, then i tried to access server-manager and there it was " 502 Proxy Error "
(Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /e-smith-manager.
Reason: Could not connect to remote machine: Connection refused )
so i deleted the 97 template expanded and restarted httpd and restarted squid, but still no join tried going in with out using squid and still no joy.
all i was doing in the template was creating a proxypass to an address, but i thought if i delete the file and expand again everything goes back to normal, I guess i'm wrong.
any good ideas ?
cheers

Not sure about sean's way of getting it to work, but I fixed it by updating squid to version 2.5 from here:
http://www.swelltech.com/support/updates/squid/7.x/RPMS/squid-2.5.STABLE3-1rh_7x.i386.rpm
and then adding a squid template fragment to add the following line to /etc/squid/squid.conf:
extension_methods SEARCH SUBSCRIBE UNSUBSCRIBE POLL BCOPY BPROPPATCH GNUTELLA CCM_POST
that should be it.

Ahh cc_skavenger, the difference is that the OWA is an internal server and the SME the firewall/gateway on the same site, what your talking about is getting around the webdav issue, when you have a user behind a squid proxy trying to access a remote OWA, and the reason i was trying seans howto is because proxypass never worked for me, it always broadcasted the internal IP address, and when i used a FQDN it still would just time out.
oh well i guess i'll have to reinstall the SME server again , seeing as i'm really good at being this guy => :hammer:

Well I've dodged the bullet this time, restarted and i have my server-manager back, last time i made a mistake with proxypass and left the field blank :-) which exactly what the readme said not to, and had to reinstall sme.
I'll take extra care this time :hammer:
