Hello,
SME is really a nice software. (I use it on 2 production servers)
However, using netatalk with Mac OS 9 & Mac OS X clients is really a pain. (one OSX can't use SMB share because resource fork is different with Mac 9 and my users want to access files from both environments) I use netatalk-1.6.3-1es0.i386.rpm (from msoulier : thanks Michael!) for a while but netatalk 1.6 has some big limitations and SME integration is a bit buggy (ask me for details, if you want)! I work with that for one year and half now but I ever dreamed a better netatalk ;-)
As Netatalk 2.0.0, stable version, has been released today, do you think it could be possible to use it in the next SME release ?
Thanks !

I can see if I can slip it into the next release. No promises tho.. If not this release, the next it will be.

Hello Monkey,
>I can see if I can slip it into the next release.
Great !!!
This is really important because of UTF8 Netatalk 2 support. All my users use "àéüèê" in their file names (for 10 years now : difficult to change their behavior and archive files) and samba doesn't understand the conversion (for an exemple, "Débuggage" (in french, wich means "Debug") is a "D:8ebuggage" file on disk and samba users see "D8EBU~3A" (not really close :-(. Some turn-around exist but not without problems too...

OK Charlie, I will test SME 7alpha7, but it still does not help me on my production server.
Since SME 7 is still Alpha, I can't put that on my production server.
I was hoping I could get Netatalk 2.0 on my production server ASAP as I am having issues with Mac OsX and Os9 users on Netatalk 1.5
I was hoping SME 6.5rc2 or 6.5 final might include netatalk 2.0
