Title: boot.img
Post by: Erik on September 20, 2001, 04:59:46 AM
Hey All,

I am trying to install e-smith on an old pc (p1 120 mhz). I am unable to boot form the CD-Rom and would like to to use a Floppy instead. Problem is, I can't find the boot image for e-smith. Itried using the redhat and slackware boot images but they obvioulsy did not work. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes all the images you need are included on the E-smith CD.
There are instructions on teh CD as well.
You will use rawrite to create the boot disk.

HI Scott,

Where do I find these images. They are not on the CD that I burnt. Nor can I find them in any of the e-smith FTP folders.

By the way I burnt the ISO folder of the 4.1.2 realease.

If you burned the 4.1.2 ISO properly, you have a directory on the CD called images, and the boot.img file is there.  If you have an .iso file on your CD, you just burned a coaster, and need to learn how to burn a CD from an image file.
