I am looking for a way to retreive mail from a clients SME server which died rather spectacularly.
They have since moved to an alternative server, so no chance of just copying the mail over and being done with it.
I am not convinced that the old server HDD is going to be bootable but I am pretty confident that the data will be in an accesible form.
I recall a Linux prog which would trawl through the plain text email files and archive to an HTML based solution.. not that I can remember what it was called or find it
Any help appreciated!

Cheers for that ;)
I actually use Mandrake on my main PC, so accessing the files is not difficult, Trouble is I need to provide them with a useable method of reading the emails.
If I could boot the system I would just dump 'em all into a couple of PST files and be done with it...
This tool was a brilliant looking thing - never actually got around to using it, despite downloading it a few times. It tool a standard unix style plain text email directory / directories, and it would produce an html archive with indexes and attachments..
I bookmarked it a few times, but have long since lost them....
If I do find it I will post it back, as the idea is a great one
