Title: read only permisions on 1 directory in an ibay
Post by: CKConsulting on October 22, 2004, 04:27:26 AM
I have an ibay with a group that has change access.  The ibay is for an application.  I would like to set only one directory "REPORTS" so only 2 users have change access and everyone else has read-only access.

I've searched serveral different phrases but can't find a solutions.  Any suggestions?

Why not setup an entire ibay called REPORTS?  You could then set the ibay to "Write Group Read Everyone"  Then set the ibay group to the a group containing only the two users in question.  Note that you can make the group containing the two users with the Group server-panel.

The (windowz) application looks in a folder PNTDATA for a folder REPORTS.  It's in the program and can't be changed.

I'm trying changing the owner of the dir to a diffenent group and assigning rights to it and then different rights for the group.  If you followed that. :)

I'll have the client test it tomorrow and post back.
Thanks for your input.

The permissions set on an ibay are done via the sticky bit, so as long as you have group read/write and everyone read on the ibay then it applies to all folders in the ibay.
