Title: maillog empty SME not sending mail
Post by: Neririn on October 24, 2004, 06:58:59 AM
I am looking for a solution to a problem I dont yet fully understand.  My box does not seem to be sending any email.  I installed nagios for sme, and was not getting notifications.  This concerned me so I logged in via webmail and sent some test messages and none of them were sent.  I then went to /var/log/maillog to find nothing.  And even the archived versions of maillog are empty.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should go about doing to conclude WHY my box wont send mail?

Thanks in advance.

That's probably because /var/log/maillog is depricated & doesn't ever get written to!  Try looking at /var/log/qmail/current

Ok, that has a bunch of stuff.  Just as well be german though.  Is there an error log that I can review.  Is there a way to determine if the queue is filling?

Thanks in advance.

there is a contrib for handling the mail-queue
search for "smeserver-qmHandle-1.0.2-9.noarch.rpm", because i don't remember where i got it.
