Title: What will there be in future release of sem ?
Post by: Cheetwoox on October 25, 2004, 12:21:25 PM
When will be released the next release of sme ?
I hope there will be latest update of all services, and it would be a good idea to add phpsysinfo to see the hardware of the server, i think it's a necessity to see free space, exchanged packets..., moreover it  would also be a goo idea to show the "temperature" of processor when possible. Why not include an antivirus ? Because noobs like me find difficult to install anything else than the distrib (which is automatic to install).

Thanks for all your work !

SME is now again handeled by a company.
we do not know their plans.
therefor we have to wait if there will be a "free" version of SME.

As discussed in the very first announcement, there WILL be a GPL release of the SME Server.  There will allso be an affordable commercial release with support and other features not available in the GPL version.

Two things...

1) We are not an unknown company.

2) We are doing a freely downloadable version of SME. We are also doing a commerical version too. There will be feature differences between the two.

Has there been a time table set up for future release(s)?
