Title: replicating sme users accross multiple sme boxes
Post by: Neririn on October 28, 2004, 07:56:00 PM
I currently have two, soon to be three, SME boxes linked via IPSec.  Is there any way to replicate the users amongst these three boxes?  Currently I have to create users on each box for dial up VPN etc.  It would be WONDERFULL to make modifications in one place and have them replicate.  Has anyone had success in implementing such a solution?  I searched the forums, but either this has never been brought up, or I searched for the wrong keywords.

Thanks a million!   :pint:

Hey,

try this link

http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/mblotwijk/HowToGuides/lazy-admin-tools.htm

one of the features allow you to save the user account info to a file on one server and then you can add the info in that file it your new server.

did you hear anything about LDAP?

there should be a contrib to manage the LDAP-directory.

cheers

I didn't think that contrib was ready for primetime yet.
Title: LDAP would be key

I would love to integrate via LDAP!  Is there any posts on LDAP that work since the Lycoris webserver conversion?   Nearly every search link results in a page not found.
