Title: forwarding mail to certain servers based on domain
Post by: oliverm on October 29, 2004, 03:38:54 PM
Hi,

We are looking at replacing an aging (and cr*ppy) antispam server with SME. There is one thing that SME doesnt seem to be able to do which would be great.

Our old server was able to send mail for certain domains to certain mail servers. This meant that would have one server acting as the antispam for each of our sites, and when it recieved a mail for thisdomain.com it would send the mail across the VPN to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. If it was for thatdomain.com it would go yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy. This was a good way of doing things, and meant that there was little need for changing anything else on the other servers.

Can SME do anything like that ?

Olly

you could have all the dns entries point to the sme server and then put in the real IP entries in the sme server under hostnames and addresses in the server manager.
