Title: cant install 6.01. But 5.6 works..... MD5 sum is OKE

Install problem on system…!!!!


Error fresh install SME 6.01 cant mount md1:/ invalid argument

On my ASUS A7V main board whit a Promise FastTrak100 Controller Driver V2.00.0 (Build 18)
I use 2 Hd’s 160GB in software mirror 1.

When I install SME 5.6 there is no problem, but if I install 6.01 (MD5 sum is ok.) I get invalid argument during install, After format the first disk.

Error mounting device md1/: as
invalid argument
this most likely means the partition
has not been formatted.
(press OK to reboot the system)

Like I said 5.6 works for me, and 6.01 fails

If I install 5.6 first and try to update to 6.01 it wont see the first installation and only gives me a option to fresh install.

The setup is like this;

Amd 750Mhz
256Mb memory
Hd1 (master) primary ultra ATA100
Hd2 (master) secondary ultra ATA100
Cdrom (master) primary IDE

I hope some one knows what is wrong,

If I don’t use the Ultra ATA 100 and put the HD’s on the IDE controller it works perfect.

i downloaded smeserver6.0.1-01-20040316.iso md5 sum oke.

same problem,
I did try to use only the primary ata100, by doing a master and a slave, it is oke for sme 5.6 that still works but any newer wont

any one Help pls

no suport for ata100 or simelar (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=8501.0)

oke al is working on the ide now
