Hi,
I'm still at little green on this field. My problem is that I can't get my HP OfficeJet K80 to work on the SME 6.01. I use CUPS and the error message is "Unable to open USB device "usb:/dev/usb/lp0": No such device".
It always works when I connect/install the printer on the lpt-port but I can't get it to work on the USB port.
Please help anyone!
/Carl

I've made a build of hpoj and a very simple e-smith-hpoj package. I can't test the packages myself for lack of a suitable printer. If anyone is interested in testing this, please contact me by email. My email address is in the e-smith-cups howtos or can be gotten with 'rpm -qi e-smith-cups' if you have that package installed.

Ok! I've solved the problem by installing a second parallel port in the server and dropped the usb connection!

Yes, that would work too. But with hpoj it shouldn't be too difficult to get your printer to work with USB. Anyway, if anyone has a need for an hpoj package, just mail me.
