This my question: can I upgrade the kernel of my sme 6.0 box with the kernel package in the sme 6.0.1 cd?
I want replace the kernel with the compiled package for my pentium.

raff

Before you upgrade ask yourself WHY?
Security ?, Features ? -> Go for it!

If you are thinking along the (gentoo) lines of "faster for my P3 than for a 386 ..."
then you just will find out "overall I do not see any SMEs peed improvement ... SME is not even idling faster <grin>"

Seriously: Check which prog uses your cpu cycles ... it's NOT kernel stuff :pint:

just my 2c
