Hii All,
First of all, let me congratulate and thank developers of SME server for providing wonderful server system.
I am having IBM xSeries 345 Server with IBM ServeRaid 6i SCSI controller. The CD provided with ServeRAID contains drivers of Redhat 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 drivers. I am trying to install SME 6.01, but I am not able to install driver with this diskette created by this CD.. As far as I know, SME 6.01 uses Redhat 7.3, kindly anyone suggest me how can I install this RAID controller driver for SME 6.01. I tryied installing it with 'accept dd', then it tryies 'Loding IPS' driver. But after that it gives error 'Please insert IPS driver diskette'. Please guide.
Thank you.

Nimseh,
I have no access to this controller but you are not the 1st to ask and get no reply -just do a search- ...
What you could do is to try to contact the good folks at the only fork e-smith had up to now, "Free-eos" ... in french ...
Over there it seems that your controller does have bios issues and needs to have the correct setting before it accepts the RH/SME install...

Good luck

http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/
SME is basically RH 7.3
Most recommended Raid Controller is "any 3ware"

Thanks for reply.
But I surfed web site for 3ware, I think it only supports IDE HDDs, I have SCSI hotswap HDDs. Will 3ware support it.

I have installed SME 6.x on Adaptec & Compaq RAID controllers with no probs. I believe Mylex & AMI should be OK too.

Hello
I have noticed that the version 7Alfa does not give problems. I have thought that we could take advantage of the installer anaconda the version 7Alfa to install the version 6.0.x.
Somebody knows like doing it? Thank you very much.
