I have set up my e-smith server with 2 network cards etc and I am having trouble connecting to my ADSL with Telstra. I set it to PPPoe and boot the server but it won't connect. The best I got was that it said the service was OK starting but when I looked it the set up it was an IP address of my network and not a Telstra one.
Any help would be appriciated.

I have been using e-smith with bigpond adsl now for about 4 months and it works perfectly. I did initially have some problems only because I was use to the microsoft way of doing things and assumed that I would need to put all sorts of settings in, the only things that you will need to tell it are your user name don't forget it's username@bigpond (no dot com etc) and your password other than that you can accept all defaults for server and gateway mode using pppoe and it will work straight up. Also make sure that you have selected your network cards correctly ie: internal network and external network (using different model cards makes this easier) you can easily check if this is where you are having trouble by swapping the cables from your internal and external cards, mixing these up is quite common. If you are still stuck after that send me an email if you wish and I will help you through it.
