Title: SATA install of SME 6.0
Post by: haagh on December 06, 2004, 11:37:05 AM
Gents,

Can anyone assist me in a "HowTo" for installing SME 6.0 on a Dell PE800 with SATA drives ?  The SATA being the real issue here !

From reading through the forums I believe it's a Kernel issue, but I also get the impression that some people have been able to get SME to run on SATA drives.
The PE800 is a great machine, so I would hate to have to replace all the drives with ATA.

Your help will be greatly appreceated !

Just picked up our 3 new servers all Intel hardware with 2 x SATA hdd.

Was the only way to get removable drive trays into a Validated Intel server, and keep the three year waranty.
