Title: SME server mirroring
Post by: edb on December 10, 2004, 05:15:32 AM
Does anyone know of a server mirroring solution for SME rather than just RAID.

I would like to be able to mirror my SME server to an off site location for failover and data redundancy.

Appreciate any ideas. Thanks

Not exactly but i tried backuppc contrib  from Duncan Thomas on a second SME. This one backs up everything except /proc on a daily base. Best solution so far.

It was high avalability how-to for older version of SME.
This may give you some pointers.

I am interested in doing something like this, but more like a hot backup. I would like to be able to replicate the entire server, usres, ibays, installed contribs, just about everything. I know there are a few areas I probably stay away from, and will do a little digging to make sure I dont blow up the standby unit. I would want to keep the external IP the same for both, but I know the network IP will have to be different on the two machines.

Will rsync do this for me, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
