Title: Usefullnes of host name wpad.mydomain.com?
Post by: rick1908 on December 20, 2004, 04:46:26 AM
Can anyone tell me what the use for wpad.mydomain.com is?

I think it stands for Web Proxy Automatic Discovery. However, I am not sure why it is there, how to use it, etc.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks,
Rick

I think you can put a file in there and set your browser to "automatic proxy detection". If you want to know the contents of the file, search contribs.org for "automatic proxy" or something like this. It has been posted somewhere.

You don't need to put files in there, there is already a file proxy.pac there.
