Title: Printer
Post by: WXP on September 28, 2001, 11:35:57 PM
Hey,

I installed a Canon BJC-80 Color Bubble Jet Printer on my e-smith server.
When I go in "My Network Places" to my server shares I see "Printers"
I click on it but I do not have any printer.

I tried to "run..." \servername\printers
It asked me to install a driver.. I installed the Canon BJC-80 drivers.
But when I'm trying to print something I have that small icon in the system bar saying "printers on server Access denied, unable to connect"

Any idea what I could do ?

Thank you !

Hi,

did you configure it with e-smith-manager,
assign a name and configure access rights?
After that you find the printer in My Network Places

use your browser :
http://(ip-adress e-smith-server)/e-smith-manager
then on left side of the page look for printers; on that page you assign the name of the printer and you can give here access rights.

note:
if not succeeded, mail me and I send you an attachment that describe how to do it.

YEAH! Like me! I have a very expensive bjc-80 beer coaster sitting right in front of me! Let me know if you want some help compiling it if you write any documentation.

Regards,

Steve
