Title: network failover
Post by: ekiwi on December 22, 2004, 02:13:31 AM
I am having difficulties with my dsl line and would like to be able to use a oridinary v90 modem as a failover position.

I have the dsl modem plugged into a ethernet port and the v90 modem pluged into a serial port.

Everything works well if I manually reconfigure things but is there an automatic solution?

Don't know about SME, kinda new here, but you might want to have a look here http://alquanto.de/goodies/linetest/

.. I use a Netgear FR328 router that does this for me - no reconfiguration of the SME box required!
