Title: HomeChoice.co.uk COM1 ADSL
Post by: Pete The Tree on September 30, 2001, 05:01:19 PM
Hello, people.

I hope you are able to help :-)

I have an ADSL connection at home with a company called HomeChoice (http://www.homechoice.co.uk) which is a little strange in that it connects to the PC's COM port but is "always on".

The problem that I am having is that E-Smith continues to send all theusual ABORT mesage despite the fact that I have removed all the necessary REPORT commands from my custom-templates copies of the diald.conf contents and executed /sbin/e-smith/expand-template on both network-scripts and diald.conf.

As a result of this it always fails because it never gets the "OK" from the expected modem (it is not a modem).

If anyone can help, I would be extremely grateful and will send the relevant tarred files so that you can see the changes that I have made.

Regards,
Pete
