Title: In ver. 5.0 the httpd can not be started?
Post by: chrisi on September 30, 2001, 09:03:31 PM
I´ve done a new install of version 5.0 of the e-smith server and gateway. when i restart the server for the first time, the httpd services fail?
masq works. there is just this error.
when i try to start the httpd in the etc/rc.d/init.d with sh httpd start or restart i get the same error?
Anybody can help?

thanx

It would help if you'd say what the error is.  I didn't have a problem with httpd on my test machine, which was a clean installation.

the same for me, http fail to start in the init process and i don't know why,
I would like to know why but can't find the reason in the log or i can't find the good one.
In fact it seems to start then the process dies!

Did anyone find a solution. I don´t know what to do. I´ve installed the 4.1.2 version and everything works fine. I´ve also tried to install a Red Hat 7.1 distribution and it worked. But because e-smith is easier to use, I would like to use this one.
Looking for some ideas?
Thanx
