Title: Ports on the sme
Post by: bellyup on January 04, 2005, 12:42:26 PM
:pint:
Hi all im currently struggling with my SME Server. I have three clients all trying to connect to a website which uses card reader login. I have two servers a sbs and an sme when the users log in using the sbs No problems but when they try using the sme they get connection refused. I cant figure it out i have turned off all my firewall rules, what are the common differences between a sme and a sbs server. Would ports be closed that should be open for a handshake to go through

Hi Bellyup,

Can you be a little clearer. Where is the website - on SBS, SME or external ? What mode is your SME server in gateway / standalone ? If gateway have you modified the firewall rules ? What's a card reader login ? What ports are you trying to access ?

As for differences between SBS and SME, how long have you got ? They're radically different from a nuts-and-bolts point of view.

The server is in gateway mode the website is a private bank website.

www.nbonline.co.uk and then go to
"international trade connect".
It is a java website using a magnetic card reader for login. Im unsure of the ports as they get all messed up in the logs.

Having trouble geeting to know about the firewall rules and how to change them.
