Title: bandwidth limiting with cbq
Post by: tariqf on January 06, 2005, 10:25:18 AM
I have read soem other posts and created a config file in /etc/sysconfig/cbq which contains:

DEVICE=eth0,100Mbit,10Mbit
RATE=1000Kbit
WEIGHT=100Kbit
PRIO=5
RULE=192.168.0.108

I have started cbq with "cbq.init start" with no errors but when I type "cbq start" I get

Illegal "weight"
RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument

I have tried all sorts but I cannot understand why I am getting this error. Please can anyone help?

you might try recreating the file.  If you created/edited the file on a windows box, it will not work.  also, make sure to remove the cbq example file.

What did you call the config file?

Something like "cbq-1000.eth0_down"

I called
cbq-20.clients for donwload
cbq-21.clients for uploads

They are in /etc/sysconfig/cbq
