I have been breaking SME installs attempting to mangle Netatalk 2.0.2 into it.
I am losing my battle with my Mac users and they are demanding a Mac Xserver...at least it will look pretty. ;-)

Hi Chrisgla
We have not added it to the install but did compile and load back into the machine and it has been working with no problems. I will need to go back to my notes on the subject but we did need to update Berkley DB first and then Netatalk.

GREAT - nice to hear that you were able to get it running. Hopefully if you post a mini-howto (please ;) ) it could be stuck into the next release.
How has it performed (especially concerning MAC 10.3.7 or any other 10 clients)?
Thank
Chris G

Do not have a Howto in place but basically downloaded
Netatalk VERSION "2.0-beta2"
Berkeley DB 4.2.52
and the Development RPMs
install development RPMs
install Berkeley Upgrade
Compile Option (note one line)
We used
../dist/configure --with-mutex=x86/gcc-assembly --prefix=/usr/lib/bdb --disable-shared
install Netatalk Upgrade
(check pdf file for compling options)
We Used
./configure --with-bdb=/usr/lib/bdb --sysconfdir=/etc/atalk --enable-redhat --with-cnid-cnid-dbd-backend
removed Development RPMs
To date have not used it with MacX. The client only has 9.2. Ver 2 is meant ot be fully X compatiable.
Our original problem was with the forked file table system getting out of sync and not showing some files.
It would be good to be able to rebuild the result into 2 RPMs for SME 6x.

Great Notes -
I will try this over the weekend and hopefully post positive results with mac osx.
I wish I had enough background in creating custom RPMs...unfortunately I do not. At this point I am willing to paypal some incentive to someone who can make an RPM update.

I have not had any luck with the above install. If someone is interested in make some money from by creating an RPM of netatalk - email me and we can figure something out.
