Title: SME Bounties?
Post by: gregswallow on January 08, 2005, 09:47:19 AM
I'd be curious what the Lycoris people (and others)think about setting up something like this for SME - http://www.horde.org/bounties/ - Keeping the theme of GPL, so someone could offer to pay to have something developed, but it would also be publicly available after that as well.

Man, my poll question must suck, of the 87 people that viewed this thread, only 4 people voted (and one was me) :-P  That's not a very good turnout to the polls in any election.  Feel free to post a message too if you want...

I would pay a small fee (say USD $20) for small contribs which fix a few things that I feel should be a part of SME to start with.

But I feel the cost requested for any item I'd like developed would likely be far beyond the price I'm willing to pay.

i would pay to have a contrib to make DNS public, and the ability to add ibays, add users via a php script hosted in one of the ibays!

Essentially making it a decent hosting machine!

What do you guys reckon?

I think that it is only fair that if you can't do the job yourself, it would be reasonable to expect to pay a fee.  As I would see this as a value added service.

But I think you would be hard pressed to find something that has not be catered for already, but if it hasn't I don't feel that a large number of people would need it <100.

Just my comments on the subject.
