Title: tftp server on SME 6.01
Post by: tiwang on January 08, 2005, 04:57:27 PM
hi folks
I have installed the tftp server (to which we can find a link here somewhere if we search for tftp) - but I am a little in doubt if SME is blocking for UDP or what. If I use xinetd to fork it I get timeout when I try to tftp from a windows client. If I start it as in.tftpd -l I can transfer a file from my sme server to my PC. I shall use it to upgrade a cisco 7905 phone and this says tftp timeout when it tries to boot the new image. When I trace with tcpdump I cannot se any tftp-requests - any suggestions ??

hi again
a bit more - and deeper - tracing shows that everything "works" - besides of that my cisco phone do not request the needed file - it is not a problem with the tftp server (don't know why i didn't se any tftp requests in my tcpdump ... hmmm) - anyway - it is not a problem with bloking ports/protocols and SME but just some improper setup of the cisco phone
