Title: multiple hostnames pointing to different iBays..
Post by: netdev on January 16, 2005, 10:19:17 PM
Hello,

Does anybody can explain me how to setup different hostanmes on the same domain name and make then point to different iBays.

i.e:
     www.abc.com  -> wwwibays
     xyz.abc.com  -> xyzibays

I guess I should use the self option in the hostnames and address panel but then ?? :hammer:

Thx for response

Jerome

Use the Domains panel & create virtual domains

Thank you for your response Ray,

So I do have to put a full Domain name (like server.domain.com) pointing to the desired iBays in the domain panel. And then I guess I should also delete the auto-created hostnames in the "hostname panel".

But this solution force me to declare those different fully qualified domains to my referal and make them point to the right ip. Time consumming when doing it with a lot of domain but a least it works.

Any other idea are welcome.

You don't have to alter anything that has been "auto created" in the hostnames panel. All those entries are generally needed for each domain eg www ftp etc.

Externally all your domains will point to the same sme server IP that you have for your main or first domain.
